Rainy January

I hate January. We get rain, rain and more rain. Look at this - this was taken at 9am!! Where's the daylight i hear you cry?!! There isnt any at the moment....or so it seems Anyway, onto happier things. I thought i would show some progress pictures on my SAL pieces. First of all, here is my Cirque des Cercles progress for the Snowbirds SAL from the last 2 weeks

Week 8Week 9Page 1 is complete at last! Yeah!!

And here is my Dear Diary SAL piece that i am doing with Vonna and Laura

Week 2
Week 3 I don't get much time to stitch so im pleased with the progress i have made. Photos and blogging provide good motivation!

Unfortunately i am working this weekend. Tomorrow i am taking a group of young people away to Edinburgh to the international climbing centre. Apparently it's an old quarry thats been converted into a climbing/abseiling centre. Its a reward for their volunteering over the last 2 years and they picked where they wanted to go. Im sure they will all love it.

Have a good weekend

The climbing centre at Ratho is fantastic! We went and had a look last summer, but DS is just a little too young to be able to do any of the stuff. You should see their aerial assault course too - not the sort of thing I could be persuaded to do under any circumstances! You'll all have a brilliant time.

CdC is looking fantastic too, love your floss colour!

My Callum goes out to school at the back of 8 and it's dark.....and comes home at the back of 4, and it's dark. Dark and wet, yuk.

You've made great progress on the Dear Diary Sampler. The lighthouse looks fantastic against your fabric choice. I am also finding that blogging and weekly photos are a great inspiration. Have fun at the climbing centre.

You've made great progress on your Dear Diary SAL too! I wish I had more time or I'd be right there as well. It looks like such a fun stitch!

Both of your WIPs are looking wonderful! Congratulations on finishing a page of CdC :) I am hoping to work on mine quite a bit this weekend. We are supposed to have windchills below zero (F) for the next couple of days, so I am not going anywhere!!

Your Cirque is beautiful. You are making grat progress. One good thing about the weather - you have more stitching time. Working the weekend is not fun but it will be over quickly.

I hope your working-weekend leaves you some time for relaxation.

Your weather looks like ours - just add some high winds to bend the trees and knock down branches. :(

GREAT stitching progress!!!

Wow, you made great progress on both of them. You said you didn't get much stitching time in, but it certainly looks like you did. I really like blogging for that, with the pictures it does let you see the progress you've made, when otherwise you might not think you've made much at all. Also, blogging is a good motivator, as you want to have progress to show off. I know that it helps keep me moving along on projects.

Have a good time on the field trip, the climbing center sounds fun.

Woo hoo! Send that rain to me. We are having the best wet season in 11 year, & while the farmers are now whining that we have too much rain, it's desperately needed. I think it has rained part of every day since Christmas apart from yesterday.

I'm about to start a CdeC project - well, just as soon as I get this current project out of the way. I'm doing a 'start February [instead of January] with a new project' thing, like a few people online did! Perhaps I could join the group? I was inspired by yours.

Happy weekend to you and yours, Cheryl.

I will take your rain, if you take my sub below zero temps. It's so cold, they are telling everyone to stay in. Both WIP's are looking great.
Stay dry

CDC is looking just great! We've had a lot of very dark grey days like that this winter! Instead of rain we've had snow!
