The kindness of stitching bloggers

I have had the worst luck with post recently. Firstly i thought some stash i ordered was lost in the mail (fortunately it wasn't), then i posted my squares for the Fair and Square exchange and then got told her address had changed (so who knows if they'll ever arrive) and finally and worst of all, Donna's RR is stuck with customs with a £50 charge attached to it. Can you believe that? I can't dispute the charges until i have the parcel in my possession and i can't have the parcel until i pay the charges. So i had to pay and hope to goodness that they will accept my dispute of the charge. There's only a bloomin' piece of linen in it for goodness sake!! That should arrive on Friday but it surely must be classed as the most expensive RR ever!

So today, i was so happy to come home and received a parcel that had no problems (or charges!) attached to it. Ive only been blogging since January but since then i cannot believe just how kind stitching bloggers are! The kindness and generosity of people i have never even met never ceases to amaze me. Mercy was one of the first stitching bloggers i came into contact with through the stitching bloggers yahoo group. Today i received the following RAK from her.
LHN's herb garden with all the floss as well! Mercy, thank-you so much. I love this piece. If you haven't checked out Mercy's blog before you should. In particular you have to see the flatfold she made recently from this design. It is beautiful.
Now some stitching updates. I haven't worked on Dollhouse since the beginning of June but i pulled it out of the WIP box recently and got another room done. Click here to see my last update picture.

Not one of my favourite rooms. I don't really get the watering can?? Here's how it looks overall. 5 rooms down, 7 to goIve been working a bit on Amitie when i have time at work. Here's my latest progress

I love both projects your working on!! And I couldn't agree more, stitching bloggers are the best!! You certainly deserved some great mail after customs put you out of pocket for £50!! Hope you get it back... some day...

Oh, my heavens! Can't they just send it back to Donna? I must say, you've had your fair share of bad luck with the mail....hope it all turns out well in the end?!

In the meantime your stitching is fabulous! I don't get the watering can either...maybe is it supposed to be an attic? Where old things are stored?

I love your WIPs! Especially Dollhouse - are you doing that over 1?

I can't believe that £50 customs charge, what a nightmare! :-( The declaration on the package must have been high (like over £150/$300) for it to be that much... you have to be so careful what you write on these packages if they're being sent outside of your own country. If it's not picked up, I guess they send it back to the sender, but not something that you want to chance with something so precious, of course. I hope it all gets sorted out.... I'm sure it will, that's just insane!

Both of your WIPs look wonderful! I'm sorry about the customs charge - what a pain! I do hope you get it back, £50 is a lot of (stash) money ;) Did Donna mark the package as a gift?

What terrible luck with the RR, I hope you can get it disputed back your way. Nice progress on the dollhouse-is that room perhaps just an attic like room? Amitie looks great. How sweet of Mercy-I think stitcher's are some of the most generous people.

What a wonderful RAK! Hopefully you don't have any other mail issues, you've had more than your fair share recently.

Good luck on the dispute...I am hoping you win and get you money back.
Isn't Mercy the best? I think so. Lovely chart she sent you.
As for the Dollhouse, your progress is looking great. I love this design. I finished this one late last year. The three top rooms are the attic, so the water can along with everything else is stuff that you might find in ones attic. Look forward to see more progress on yours.

Lovely RAK from Mercy!

Hope your mailing issues get better soon!

As for the watering can - maybe that room is the "junk room" and that's why it's in there. lol.

I love your dollhouse. I agree with Vonna, old watering can stored in the attic. It probably has a hole in it. :)

What a great surprise to receive, I love that pattern. To bad the rest of your mail experience can't be nice. I can't believe they are putting that kind of tax on it. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can get it back in dispute.

Your house is looking very cute, and I'm really liking Amitie, the color is so pretty.

You have had your share of postal problems lately! I can't believe that customs would charge that much. Was there a value on the package?
As for your WIP, they're lovely. I really like Amitie. Mercy's RAK was especially nice. I'm learning too that stitching bloggers are some of the nicest people!

Sorry to hear about all the mishaps. Maybe they have made an mistake on your RR piece as far as the custom charges.Great stitching on your current pieces.

I can't believe your postal problems! I hope you get your money back with no problems.

I'm not sure why there would be a watering can in the attic... that sort of thing gets tossed in the garage around here :)

Good grief! £50 is a awful lot for some fabby! The post office can be so silly sometimes. Hope everything starts going smoothly from now on.

I LOVE the dollhouse. Who is the designer. Have you said and I missed it. I think my niece would love to do it. She used to collect dools, but is leaving them behind when she goes to college this month.

Your WIP's look great! But ouch, that's an awful lot of money to have to hand over to receive an RR. I hope you can get the issue cleared up and get your money back.

Luckily you at least had a lovely RAK to come home to :-D
