100th post

This is my 100th post! I love blogging!
Work is crazy at the moment and life is generally busy so ive not been stitching as much. I only had 1 free night last week and it's going to be the same again this week. So here is an update on what i have been working on. First of all, Edgar's RR (sorry about the lighting of the photos, it's getting dark so early here now!) Im making this RR up as i go along! Edgar's only preference was to have trees in each square. Im not working from any particular LHN pattern, im just adding things as i go along...which is making for slow progress.
Yesterday i was suffering with my startitis problem that you'll know i have by now. I started this one from the 2006 JCS ornament issue. I think i'll keep this for me when's it's done; for my Christmas tree. I think it's by Cherished Stitches.
Finally here's a quilting update. Im finding quilting class hard going....im generally really tired on a Thursday evening and the lighting in the room isn't great. Progress is slow. I find quilting takes up a lot of time - particularly measuring and cutting. Don't get me wrong....i do enjoy it....but i would prefer to use my machine than sewing by hand. After this class is done my next quilting attempt will definitely be machine stitched! Sorry about the bad light in these photos.

Have a good week!

Congratulations on your hundredth post!

Your stitching and quilting progress look good to me. I can't handle evening classes at the moment. Maybe when the kids are older. By 9 pm my brain has shut down... LOL!

100 - woo hoo, Cheryl!

The quilting progress is wonderful. Oh how I love quilts. Enjoy :)

That RR is beautiful - sheep are always so extra fun to stitch, I think!

No worries about startitis ... it's as common and the common cold :D Lovely stitching and your quilting is coming along nicely. Yeap, quilting is a very precise, slow going craft, easy does it :) But the results ... fabulous as how your's will be!

YOur 100th post!!! Wow Congratulations! Stitching and quilting classes are looking good. I took classes last winter but I am doing as much machine sewing as possible. If I want to stitch by hand I will cross stitch!!

Congrats! The RR stitch is looking brilliant - especially as you're making it up as you go! The sheep are too cute.

I dislike stitching by hand too. It takes up so much time. But my sewing machine and I have a tempestous relationship, so unless it's a cushion or something, it's quicker for me to just sit and stitch than battle with it. :)

Love the RR and I am sure the quilting will be worth all the effort.

Congrats on the 100th post! I like what you're doing in Edgar's RR - I was kind of thinking along similar lines - how many different trees do you think I can get into one square?? The quilting's looking good too!

Oh - and thanks for including me in you're list of people who make you smile!

Congrats on hitting 100! Your stitching is lovely, as is your quilt. Being a long time machine quilter, I give you a lot of credit for doing it by hand. Kudos to you!!

Congrats on your 100th post. Your stitching is gorgeous, as is your quilting. I think you will like machine piecing much better, it's faster and easier.

Congrats on the Centennial! Your projects look great. I especially love the Christmas ornie. I still don't know what I'm making this year bust since I do 8 each year (all same or series) it probably won't be stitched since I have too much going on! I'll stop by later!

Everything looks great! I must admit I far prefer stitching by hand, but it would be a dull world if we were all the same!

I empathise with you on the evening class thing - I'm studying for a degree part time, and this semester all my classes are evenings, so I'm out late three nights a week! I tell myself at least I have the days free when the light is better to stitch, but I'm having to read and stuff in that time! LOL

Your rr looks fab as does the tree ornie. I love the colour - so rich. You are doing so well with your patchwork. I really would like to get into it at a later date. xx

Your quilting is really coming along. I'm envious of anyone who is able to quilt.
Love what you're doing in the RR too.

Cheryl, I'm just adding to your laurels...all is beautiful and congratulations on your 100th post! I want to just share with you this other note: learn to quilt the right way...tough it out like you're doing. Then, when you get home, and it's all over...you can break the rules, do it your way, and have fun! That's about what we all do, and it makes it much more fun. There are times to be very precise, and there are times to just do it for fun...and you'll know the difference. :P
Love and hugs,
Deb

Cheryl! Oh I'm so happy to be back. You've been so busy. I'm so jealous. I don't know that I'll have time before the new year to pick up a needle but maybe by the 1st of December.

I owe you some emails and I'm going to get to them this weekend.

Keep up the beautiful quilting work! You will be so pleased to have learned so much when you're done. Machine piecing is so much faster, but you still have all that cutting and measuring. Good light and good tools help! The RR is looking so cute!

No need to rush with the Strawberry if you're too busy. We can sort it out sometime.
