Stash i'll never stitch!

I finished stitching this design for the Quilts for breast Cancer group. This is a design that was in the Gift of Stitching online magazine in September 2007. I am going to stitch a breast cancer ribbon either side of the design as it's a bit small at the moment. I'll post another picture once i've done that.

Now for some stash. I spent so much on floss in Canada that ive been very good ever since and not bought anything else. I forgot that i did buy this chart in Canada though. Its Once Upon A Time by Passione Racome. Do you ever buy charts and then realise you'll never stitch them? I'll never stitch this. But it was a bargain at something like $8 Canadian. When i looked at the complicated chart i knew straight away that this will never be a finish LOL but it's pretty and maybe i'll change my mind one day!

As for charts i will stitch, i came across the freebie Rose Sampler SAL by EMS. I love this, it's so pretty and im going to stitch it in Red, probably DMC 115, one of my favourites. So watch this space! I know i shouldnt start any other big pieces, i have so many WIPS that are well neglected and other sals i could spend more time on (such as Cirque) but i have startitis and that's my excuse

It's 26th March and it's snowing. Whats the deal with that?

I love your finish :)
And although that PR is gorgeous...I'd never start or finish it either ;)

Great finish and what a wonderful project to stitch for.

I will admit to buying some charts that I'll never do too. But the spur of the moment buying just feels so good and when the price is great, I figure why not?

Great finish!

I saw that SAL and thought DMC 115 would work great for it too! I just don't have the time to stitch it right now but I will be sure to watch your progress:)

Really cute square for the breast cancer quilt. And that SAL is gorgeous, but I just can't can't can't start anything big (I won't say new, I'll just stick with big, LOL)

You did such a nice job on your quilt piece! And my goodness that does look like it would be a complicated piece to stitch!

Cheryl, great finish and I am also doing the EMS rose sampler, its fun but has been haunted by the frog during that 1st part. I am there with you with that snow. For 2 weeks now it has snowed huge chunks every day and then it rains and the snow melts away. And you know the first day of spring has passed?

Lovely ornament, Cheryl!

Good thing you bought that chart anyway, because you never know how you feel about it in a couple of years' time!

I have a few 'gotta have it' charts, too. LOL!

Snow. Sigh. Don't get me started. But if I don't see some sunlight soon, I won't be held responsible for my actions. You might hear about me hijacking a plane to Jamaica or something!

I was late starting the EMS SAL but it so easy and stitched up really quickly. Now I will try to do it as it is published each month. Look forward to seeing yours.

Hey you!! I am watching the gallery of progress pics on the EMS rose sampler. Some colours peeps have used are just gorgeous. I am saving the parts but so so tempted to start. How many wips is one legally allowed to have on the go at one time lol?? xx

Sorry it's snowing! I'm so behind in getting my rr out to you! I've got 3 things to go in the mail this weekend! Wish me luck in getting them out on time! I joined the breast cancer group!

Nice finish :)

And yes!! I will buy a chart if I love the design even if I KNOW I will never ever stitch it... I'm definitely a collector of pretty charts.

Dear Cheryl, Keep that chart! You never know when...some year, some day and time in the future, you may just be sorting around in your stash and come across it...and you'll want to stitch it! It's happened to me! :)
Hugs, Deb PS: Sweet quilt contribution.

Your square is beautiful! Your stash is lovely... even if you never stitch it. And that rose sampler... well, I love it to. I might have to start it with you, but I want to see a few more pieces before I start..... and I'd better get a few more pages of Vierlanden done before I start another big sampler! lol

I know what you mean about buying things you'll never start nevermind finish - I have a few of those in my stash. Comforting to think you might one day though :)

Well done on your breast cancer quilt square finish!

Oh - and you asked me a while back (and I've been busy and not blogging!) whether I was handstitching my quilt blocks - nope, it's machine all the way for me! I have barely the patience to machine stitch it, handstitching would be far too painful :) Hope the weather's clearing up up there - it's been raining cats and dogs here!

It turned out beautifully, congrats on your finish. The PR piece is beautiful. I have quite a few designs that I know I won't really do, but they are so pretty and I liked them so much I couldn't pass them up. Maybe I will, in the future sometime, maybe. However, I enjoy looking at them and even if I never stitch them I know I have them so could if I wanted to, which is enough. The Rose Sampler is so pretty, I'll look forward to watching yours as it progresses.

I can't tell you how many kits and patterns I have bought knowing I would probably never stitch them! lol I am doing the Rose Sampler SAL. I am really enjoying it! It doesn't take long to do each part! Have a great day!

very sweet ornie.

I have the PR OUAT as a wip right now, at some point i was really frustrated with the arbour. But it's such a sweet design i can't help but pursue, and i am now half way. Actually after you moved past the arbour it will go ever so smoothly. And working on the two lovers, I am loving every minute of it.

It's nice to know you have it in your stash, I am sure someday you will want to stitch it. =)
