Best day/Bad night

Today has been the best day ever and we've not even left the house yet!! By ever i mean since Caleb was born. He's been an angel...he's slept slept great, waking up for a feed and change and back to sleep again. He's even been content just playing on his mat when he has been awake. It makes a really nice change! I got so much done - i was able to sort out all his clothes, tidy and clean and even stitch for a whole hour! An hour!! That hasnt happened in a loooong time. I enjoyed the me time so much......................We're going to my mum and dads soon for a Chinese takeway as DH is out with work tonight.

I wrote that yesterday (Friday) but didnt get time to finish it. I spoke too soon. The best day ever turned into a bad night which is, quite frankly, typical. He didnt sleep til 2am and woke up 4am and then was really fussy the rest of the morning. He's asleep now. My days are his nights aaaahh

So, i will take this opportunity now to show some stitchy pictures. I havent shown a picture of Caleb's birth sampler since this post in November. Here's how it looks at the moment

There's not too much more to do, so this might actually be my first ever big (ish) finish to be framed. I have no big framed pieces in my home at all!! I have loads of big unfinished pieces in a box though LOL...speaking of which here's the latest Feather Fairy update (all the stitching was done prior to baby's arrival). I was working on this as part of the Stitch a Mirabilia Blog and will get back to the SAL at some point in time

So glad it's the weekend! DH being home makes a big difference...the extra pair of hands is a relief :-) Enjoy your weekend!

Cheryl, I'm totally with you about loving DH being home on the weekend! I love the help! I'm actually up nursing right now. DH said when I'm finished I can go back to bed and he'll get up with the kiddies.

When you were pregnant, did Caleb move around a lot at night and keep you up? I've heard some people speculate that that's why babies have their days and nights mixed up. When you're pregnant, all your moving around during the day lulls them to sleep. And when you relax at night, they wake up. So their sleep patterns are all backwards since the uterus! It figures!

I love the birth sampler! I need to do one for both of my little ones. Maybe seeing yours finished will inspire me :)

That was a shame that the best day turned into a bad night. It was good you got some me/stitching time for a bit though.

Caleb's birth sampler and Feather Fairy are looking great!

I wish you luck with the next few days and weeks...it will get better! My first was like this and my second has been a dream! I'm glad that you did get some stitching time, though! That "me" time can make the crazy hours more manageable! Good luck :)

Great progress on your lovely projects, Cheryl! I hope that Caleb can get on your schedule soon. My friend was telling me it was a bit of a rough transition when she had to get her son to stay awake during the day and sleep at night so I hope it's smoother for you!

Oh hang in there, Cheryl. Eventually babies do get their days and nights straightened out. It just seems to take forever!!!

Had a lovely look at your posts! Happy belated birthday. Caleb is sooo cute. Lily had her nights and days mixed up till I did the controlled crying thing and then she was fine. It was a week of pure hellishness but so so worth it. Worked for Elijah too ;-) email if you need any info/support. xx

Belate Happy Birthday Cheryl!
Both your stitching projects look great. I haven't touched my Mirabilia in awhile. I promised myself I'd get back to it this week.
Hang in there, it shouldn't be too much longer before Caleb sticks to a schedule.

The birth sampler is looking great and so is your fairy. My stitching was on hold for the longest time after my girls were born. Try and keep Caleb up as long as you can during the day, I know he will be cranky and all but it will help get his days and nights switched back and then you can finally get some sleep again. ^_^

Our kids were also not very good nighttime sleepers so I sympathize! I hope he'll adjust to a rhythm that you can all live with, very soon!
