2 today!

My beautiful boy is 2 today! He is such a character; very loving, affectionate, a mummy's boy, content and happy with a fiery independent streak at times. He adores his big brother who is the first person he wants to see when he wakes up in the morning. He loves his food, loves milk, adores animals (our bunnies and his childminder's dogs in particular) and is obsessed with JCB tractors. Tractors galore for birthday presents! He brings us great joy and happiness and whilst we are exhausted by our 2 boys, we cannot imagine life without them! Happy 2nd Birthday Aaron! To quote your big brother, "love you so much!"

My what a change in 2 short years!

Best.Birthday.Ever

There goes February without a single blog post. My days/weeks have been flying by recently.

February was a good month and most notably i got to go away for a whole weekend with my best friends to a wee village in the Cotswolds. We try to do this every year and i love that things never change between the 9 of us.

Yesterday was my 32nd birthday. I can truely say that this was one of my most favourite birthdays ever. Here's how my day went:

- Cup of tea in bed
- Husband made pancakes for breakfast (without being asked!!)
- A 5K run in beautiful sunshine along the coast
- A long shower to get ready for my afternoon at a gorgeous country club (by myself, myself-yes!)
- 2 course lunch at said country club
- Chill out with my book and magazine on some plush sofas to let my lunch go down
- Nice relaxing swim in the pool
- Jacuzzi
- Steam Room
- Express Facial
- Back, shoulder and neck massage
- Pot of tea next to log fire
- Home just in time to put boys to bed
- Cocktails and DVD with hubby

I loved it. I loved the ME time. Im never on my own. I never get to just be. It was bliss just to be on my own, not have to talk to anyone and totally relax. I love my hubby for this gift! It was the best birthday and exactly what i needed.

Today has been a lovely day too. I went out for an 11 mile bike ride this morning then the 4 of us spent the rest of the day pottering around in the garden, my parents popped in for a wee visit too. Then tonight we had a Chinese takeway for dinner and once im off this computer, i plan on ignoring the massive pile of ironing that's waiting for me and opening a bottle of red. A great way to kick start being 32!

A Dipsy party

As predicted, i never did get Aaron's birth sampler finished for his 1st birthday. I have, however, been making good progress recently. These dark nights are good for stitching at least. Maybe by Christmas? HA, i doubt that, ive got their Christmas ornaments to stitch soon. Note to self: pick charts for Christmas ornaments soon!

We had a lovely weekend celebrating our boy's 1st birthday. On his actual birthday, the Friday, we opened pressies in the morning, then when Caleb got home from nursery we went for a quick look around the boat show at the marina and then to Macdonalds for tea. On the Saturday we had his party, which went really well. My house didn't get trashed by the 12 kids + parents. The kids all played great together. He had a teletubbie themed party (actually just Dipsy). He doesn't even watch teletubbies (is it even on anymore?) but ages ago someone gave him a Dipsy toy and a free promotional dvd and he LOVES it. He kisses Dipsy all the time and sits enamoured by the dvd. So a Dispy 1st birthday party it was...i even handmade the party bags but forgot to take a picture of those.
The sheer joy at receiving a new teletubbies dvd
Dipsy cake

Some of the party Food!

Thank-you Pinterest for this rainbow fruit idea!

As for this 'Palm tree,' it was supposed to be 2 but when i got up in the morning the boys had eaten all but 1 banana, I quite liked it (another pinterest idea) but have now gone off it since my friend with the dirty mind described it as 'a bit phallic' hahahahaha

So we have a quieter weekend ahead this weekend. Matthew normally bikes on a Saturday morning with his friends from church and Caleb has a birthday party in the afternoon. That's about all i think! Hope to squeeze a good long run in seeing as the forecast looks good.

Hello Spring

It was a beautiful sunny spring morning when we got up 4 hours ago but now it's looking a bit grey....aaah scotland ;-) I stitched this little pincushion for my Spring exchange partner over at the Friendly stitchers yahoo group. Its a Lizzie Kate freebie, there's just pink flowery fabric on the back, i didnt take a picture of that.

Havent blogged in a while, i nearly forgot my password to sign in here. Im fine, just shattered and got a lot on.....a looming redundancy etc etc Our charity is merging with 2 others and i think there's about 40 people for 18 jobs. Its crap. Plus they havent offered any part-time posts so im kinda screwed. I had to apply for a full-time one (because if you didnt apply it would be assumed you were resigning and then there would be no redundancy money) and i will request part-time hours at the interview. Its been a long screwed up process with some shocking things happening along the way. So my interview is on Wednesday but from the way things have been so far i get the feeling its all pre-decided anyway. Its all so unjust.

On a more positive note, i had such a great 30th birthday party! There were about 100 folk there and i loved it.....so many people made an effort to be there flying in from all over the UK and it meant a lot to me! I was very touched. Some friends from school came (i hadn't seen one of them since we were 18) so we had a lot of fun catching up and dancing the night away! So much fun! Here's me getting my cake alongside my wee family :-)
So thats about all. Ive started a SAL with Kathy but i've made such miserable process it's not even worth documenting it with a picture yet. Also about to start a SAL with Suzanne. Be back soon....

In my next decade

Well, as of yesterday, i am officially in my 30's! I had a lovely birthday. DH took the day off and we went to Edinburgh zoo. Caleb loved it, especially when the penguins came out their enclosure and took their walk right past him. Here is 30 year old me with my 2 year old. Happy times :-)
and here are Caleb's friends the penguins. He laughed so hard everytime they made their noise!
When we got home we got a yummy Indian takeaway and chilled out for the evening. Big party next on the 12th! Ive got over 100 people coming and i can't wait!! Hope everything goes to plan!
