A healthier week

It's Friday night, should i tempt fate and say so far, so good....no sick mum, no sick baby....will we have a weekend without having to call NHS24 and see the emergency doctor? Watch this space!

Cant thank people enough for the comments on my previous post. Ive read the comments through a few times during the week. I found them so supportive and encouraging and reassuring. You are a great bunch of folk and i appreciate everyone who leaves a comment here.

I feel like i never get the chance to stitch anymore. As soon as Caleb is asleep i get the chores done, sort myself out and normally just as i pull some stitching out he's awake and ready for action! However, looking back at the last few posts i have made progress on Caleb's sampler so i must be getting some time! For those that asked, this is by The Historical Sampler Company.

We've had a much better week this week. He's generally going to sleep at midnight, waking at 4.30/5am for a feed/change and then back to sleep for another few hours. This i can totally handle. Getting sleep makes the world of difference! Of course having the inlaws over from Canada has been a good rest for me too!

Here's to a healthy weekend in our household....cross your fingers for us :-)

I hope you get more rest and things go a little smoother for you. I really like the progress on your baby sampler. I am contemplating doing this one for a friend expecting at the end of the year.

The sampler is looking so pretty! Good job you!
Soon he'll be in the "golden" age...6 months...that's the best time, they aren't mobile yet, but they can sit up and they are interested in everything you place in front of them :)

Sleep is necessary! Do you feed him right before bed and then he wakes up to feed at 4:30/5? I top Sarah off right before we go to sleep for the night and that seems to help keep her night feedings to about 2.

I just read your breastfeeding adventures and felt physically sick when I read about everything you had to go through. You made absolutely the right decision to stop. I wish midwives would stop making you feel guilty when breastfeeding doesn't go according to plan. Babies grow up no matter how you feed them! I hope you and Caleb feel a whole lot better now.
Love the progress on your sampler. So sweet!

Glad that you are both are doing better and you're getting more sleep. The more sleep the better! Sounds like the in-laws have been helping out a lot which they couldn't do if you were still breastfeeding. lol Hope the night feedings get further between so you can get even more sleep.

Oh, I'm so happy that you're both feeling better these days. It certainly is nice when they're happier. Then you can be happier too :)

I am so glad that everyone seems to be feeling better this week!! I know it has been tuff lately for you all!! Gotta get that sleep!! I agree with what Kim B said about topping them off before sleep! I always done that with both of my kids and it usually helped them a lot! Just pray that you all stay well!!!

I'm glad you've had a sickness free weekend so far! I'll have to stay away from you tomorrow, as I've come down with a cold. Totally sucks! Hopefully we can catch up before I leave. And I'm glad you're enjoying the in-laws' visit!

I hope you all get a healthly weekend. I know it always seems to happen when it's the weekend. Caleb is so sweet! Just think, in a couple of months he will be in the rugrat stage, that's when you can lay him down on a quilt and surround him with lots of toys to crawl too. That stage was so cute with my own boys.

Dear Cheryl, It's so good to hear you're getting some well deserved sleep. It really makes one feel sane and like a person again, doesn't it? Jessica is still having to get up for her day at 5:30 or 6:15am...Kellan goes to bed for the night at 6:30-7:00pm. There is light at the end of the tunnel, Sweetie.
Meanwhile, your sampler is just darling!! I love the tigers. :)

Keep feeling better, Cheryl.
Hugs,
Deb

My fingers are definitely crossed for you both. Good heavens, reading about your nursing difficulties was just heart-wrenching. My opinion on this shouldn't matter an ounce, but I still think you made a good decision to stop.

The sampler is coming along nicely. Amazing how much you can accomplish in so little time. :)

Wow you have been having a rough time of it. Glad to hear things are starting to get better and you're both more rested. Your sampler is looking so pretty. One of the nice things about blog posting is that you can see that you are making headway on a piece, when otherwise it wouldn't seem like you are.

Sorry that you had such a rough time of it lately...it's just so hard when you're sick, baby's sick and it all just goes poorly. Glad things are perking up a bit and that you have had family to help. Sunshine is on the horizon....:)
