Calling all Canadians....

Well in 6 days time we're off to Canada. DH is happy to be going home :) We're going to be in Ontario and will be in Hamilton/Toronto/Fairy lake in Huntsville. Does anyone know of any good LNS's in those areas? It's so cheap for us Brits to buy over there so it's the perfect opportunity for some stash shopping!! Any help would be much appreciated, if you could leave me a comment or email me that'd be great cherylthomas3000 at yahoo dot com.

In stitching news i have started a new project which is a PIF gift. I love starting new pieces. I seen a blog once called "confessions of a serial starter" and i thought that would be perfect for me! I love starting new things. I really really want to buy (and start) Village of Hawk Run Hollow by Carriage House Samplings but i will wait until we go to Canada to see if i can buy it over there. I have also signed up to the Fair and Square exchange which im excited about and if you're interested, the rules are here

Here's some West of Scotland Weekend photos for you to enjoy. This is looking across to the Isle of Arran
and we were out for dinner tonight with my family and this was the view out of the restaurant window

Thanks for dropping by my blog the other day, it was so nice to hear from you! :) Those are beautiful photos. It's been years since I've been to Arran (a friend I went to high school with came from there, so I visited fairly often 15 odd years ago... now I feel old!)

Have a wonderful time in Canada... lucky you!

Enjoy the trip! The only LNS's I know up there are across the lake from Toronto in New York :) It's a beautiful area though, so I hope you have a great time!

Have a great time in Canada, My DH's Aunt and family live in that same area of Canada! Not sure if there is a LNS as my MIL had trouble finding one to get me some things last time she was there but maybe they didn't know where to look!
Hope you are enjoying your new start, good fun isn't it :)

Have a nice week Cheryl and by the way love your pictures.

Luuurve the pictures, Cheryl!
It's so nice to see you at Fair and Square, I'm sure we'll all have a wonderful time.
I, too, suffer from startitis. The Village of Hawk Run Hollow was started by me last year. Haven't made much progress, but starting a new block always feels like a completely new start, so this should be the perfect piece for you!

Have a great trip, Cheryl! We leave for Canada on June 30th - long after you've returned, I think...

I hope you have a safe and comfortable flight.

I know for one Mindy of Sugar Maple Fabrics is based in canada, I think, Ontario. I am not sure if she has a shop though, i think she works from home, but doesn't hurt to drop her an email and ask. =)

Hi! You'll be right in my home region! Unfortunately, I don't know of any actual LNS's in the area other than those mentioned by TKDChick. I can confirm, however, that Mindy of Sugar Maple Fabrics doesn't have a shop. I was really disappointed by that! :) She might know of any others that have opened in the area though. I haven't actually lived there since 1995, but my family is all there. At any rate, for just floss (bring your lists) you can check WalMart or even a Michaels. It will be *significantly* cheaper than at home for you!
Most importantly, enjoy your trip!

Hi Cheryl ~ Gorgeous pictures! You're visiting my area! If you want to visit cross stitch shops, then you must visit Golden Threads in Hamilton, a lovely store, and Gitta's on Lakeshore in the Port Credit/Mississauga area, near Lake Ontario. Its my favourite LNS, loaded with tons of patterns, tons of models to look at and wonderful fabrics too. I hope you have a fantastic trip!
