Rainy saturday

Its 1pm and it's such a dull day we've had to have the lights on all morning. How depressing! This morning we went to play badminton as we feel that we never get any exercise in the winter. By the time you get home from work, it's dark and i just can't be bothered doing anything. But i must!! Its so easy just to come in and veg out in the evening especially when work has been busy and stressful. Unfortunately Scottish winters come with a lot of rain so outside is not particularly appealing!

Anyway, on to nicer topics....like this gorgeous Christmas ornie i received from Karen this week! I love it Karen and can't wait to hang it on my tree. Thank-you. No decorations here yet mind you! I normally put my decorations up 12 days before Christmas and take them down 12 days after. Here's my lovely gift from Karen anyway, it looks like a JBW designs one to me but im not sure
I also received the next RR to work on for the Heartfelt Friends RR. This one is Lizzy's and my, is it a beauty or what?! Lizzy is using LHN's Dear Diary series for her piece. It looks really great. Ive never seen these Dear Diary ones before but im definitely going to buy some after seeing this piece. I have already started my square and am going to stitch the Mary Heaton, Fort Wayne one. You'll probably be bored of CdC by now but as im working on it once a week for the SAL and i only normally get to post to my blog once or twice a week, it's going to be a regular update here. It's great motivation for me to see my (small) progress week by week. I've started working on the big circle, bottom right. Still on page 1 though! This afternoon im going to stitch and either finish watching season 6 of Gilmore Girls or watch Hairspray on DVD. Perfect rainy day afternoon in my eyes :)

I am amazed! The CdC looks so hard, but pretty! Hope it quits raining! You could send some to us though, we are in a drought!

The CdC is just coming along gorgeously Cheryl! And I do LOVE that ornie you received :)
After watching your HFF RR, I've decided that I'm going to do the dear diaries on one big piece of linen myself just like Lizzy's isn't it great?! Love it!

I watched the news today and hear that you guys might be getting snow - yeuch! It's very soggy down south too :(

Lovely ornament from Karen, and I'm not bored of your CdC, it's a wonderful design and you're steadily progressing - well done :)

Oh boy, your weather sounds as dreary as ours. The rain held off till about an hour ago, but the sky's been on the ground all day.

CdC looks FABULOUS and I love that RR you're working on! Very cute Christmas ornament you've received, too!

CdC is looking sooo great! I'm stitching on mine today since my evenings were all tied up this past week.
I really like the ornie you received. It does look like JBW.
I'll trade you some snow for some rain! Although the snow does put me in the Christmas mood. I do my decorating at the same time as you do so I'll start on my days off Dec.13 and 14th.

It's awful weather down in the Midlands too. :(
The exchange you received is lovely as is CdC. Lizzy's RR looks wonderful.

Such a pretty ornament, I've just finished stitching that very pattern this week (still have to do the finishing though) and it is a JBW.

Lizzie's RR is really lovely, I'm waiting for my Dear Diary series to arrive in the mail as we speak! And great progress on CdC :)

I love that ornament! I don't usually like to stitch ornaments or anything Christmas but it's one of the few that I'd like to stitch :-)

I got your email about the charts, I've been so blah that I didn't have a chance to say "You're Welcome!"

I've never seen the Dear Diary pieces either and they are nice.

CdC looks great!

We don't have rain but have had snow and it's also getting darker earlier and the sun doesn't come up until much later. I'm having a hard time telling my confused patients it's morning since it's sooo dark when I wake them. Plus it's a little dreary for me because I go home and sleep in the morning and when I wake up it's dark, so depressing!

Enjoy the weekend!!!

Dear Cheryl, I'm trying to catch up! Your Cdc is so great looking! I'm amazed at how fast you're stitching it! I, too, love the Neighborhood you're working on. What a darling choice she made. If you do another RR, I'd like to join with you.

Its amazing what a picture can do to boost you when you think you have hardly done anything and then you look at last weeks and realise just how much progress has been made.

Love your little ornament from Karen.

Yes, it was a very dull, damp and cold weekend! I'm back at work today and don't know if I'm coming or going after last week being a complete mess. Edgar's RR arrived safely mid week so I'm doing a spot of planning now. I think it'll be coming to Scotland with me for Christmas. Love seeing your progress on CdC - it really seems to be growing quickly!

The tree ornament is very cute, what a fun mail surprise. The RR is looking good too. That series is so interesting, it is going to be fun seeing them all stitched together. Nice progress on your CdC as well, that will be so striking when done.

That is a cute little ornie you received.
CDC is coming along great.
I think I may have my colors picked out for my next CDC. I dont really care for the Triangles. I have to see how some of my other bigger WIP's go after the New Year.
I hope you get feeling better about the job.
The weather here is yucky too.
Take Care!!

I'm not tired of the CDC yet! I love watching your progress! Rain keeps threatening around here but we have only had a few scattered clouds. I'll trade with you!

The ornie from Karen is lovely.

I really like the Dear Diary series as well. Since she chose that series for her RR, did she also include the patterns for each person to stitch or does everyone buy one? I'm just wondering how that would work. That's a pretty neat way to have a whole series stitched!

Your CDC is looking very nice! I love the color of the floss!

The ornie is lovely and your cdc looks fab! In terms of the weather - although it has stopped raining, it is just sooo cold!!!xx

Beautiful ornament! Delightful RR -- I don't think I've ever seen those patterns before. And your CdC is beautiful. I don't know how you keep your place!!! It looks complicated : )

It's a beautiful ornament! And your CdC is looking great, the thread colour is pretty.

Oh I know how you feel, with the dark days. Here it's also so dark at the moment, usually snow brightens up days a lot and makes everything look prettier. But we don't have snow at the moment, all has melted away as it was so warm last week. I've never in my life experienced a Christmas without snow, so we'll see how it will be this year :) I hope you'll get some snow too, if you're wishing for it :)
