Slow cookers and winter walks

Today i did something i've been meaning to do for a long time.....i bought a slow cooker. Boy, does that make me feel old. I've wanted one for ages but sometimes i'm in denial about my age and think i'm just too young to be wanting one of those therefore i will not buy it. But it was £12 in Tesco so i couldn't resist. I gave myself a massive papercut holding the box (and trying to manoeuvre the pram at the same time) in the queue at the till though and felt like crying for the second time that day. The first time being when i actually fell over on the ice outside my house and hurt my hands and my hip. I held it together until i got in the car and then i cried. Falling over is so embarrassing, more so when you're on your own because you have noone to laugh with. I pulled Caleb over with me so he was crying too. Oh im sore tonight! I AM getting old! Anyway...i bought a slow cooker and i'm excited about finding some recipes and trying it out!

Advent day 9. Our activity today was to go on a wintery walk to collect pine cones and holly. We walked all through the woods and didn't find a single a pine cone! Wrong type of trees obviously. We did get some holly branches though. We'll go a different route tomorrow and see if we can find pine cones there. I'm all ready to spray them silver!

My boy likes nothing better than to be outside

Oh no...rough day! I hope that you're ok from your fall. You're not old...you're younger than me! And I'm not that old! lol

So sorry you fell on the ice, it's been so lethal hasn't it. I hope you feel a bit better today, and can find some pine cones.

I found your blog when you were pregnant with Caleb and have continued to follow. Isn't your little lad just beautiful? It seems no time since he was a baby and here he is all wide-eyed and wonderful. Tell you what - he will keep you forever young! Irene xx

Oh I love that last photo of Caleb! Wide eyed wonder!
How miserable that you had a tumble on the ice. Hope you're not too sore.
I had to laugh at your comment about being too young for a slow cooker. I received my first one as a wedding gift. You'll love it!

So sorry you hurt yourself twice! No fun for sure.

Great purchase in the slow cooker. I love mine!! In fact, I'm making some taco soup for dinner tonight in it. lol All I have to do is make some cornbread or maybe garlic bread and dinner will be done. I do love that thing and think it's almost the best thing ever invented. lol
